OPI Fly & Did It On 'Em

Hello ladies! How are you all doing? I have been so excited with the Germany trip that I have not much time for updating this blog. Exactly 3 weeks ago, my pet netherland dwarf, Chacko, of 4+ years passed on. I was late in discovering his death and when I had to take away his body, the smell of death was already in the air. After cleaning and scrubbing myself, the smell still lingered on. It was so bad that whenever I think about it, I want to throw up. I hope he's resting well now.

Chacko:

I didn't have any mood to choose a colour for my nails. In the end, I settled for OPI Fly and Did It On 'Em. Fly is a very nice blue medium colour although I feel it dries darker than the bottle. Did it On 'Em is a dirty yellow green and I match this colour with dark clothings so that it stands out. I know this is not a very exciting post but thank you for taking some time to read.

Cousin's Wedding

Aloha! I have a beautiful post for you ladies today! Yesterday was my cousin's wedding and I did a tape mani to match the colour of my dress! I am happy for her. We did not know of her boyfriend's exsistence until we received the wedding invitation! It was mostly because she had been studying aboard most of her life and we do not contact at all. It was a very fun and simple wedding.
Since I was going to wear a forest green dress, why not do a turquoise mani? But I wanted to add a little something extra so I matched it with a soft white. The base is Orly Au Champagne, a very nice soft pearly white. Using regular scotch tape which is cut into strips and then pasted over the dried base, I polish China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise over it. Let's have a look at the finished product!

Here is a short post on the make up I did for the wedding. I apologise if my picture is not sharp. I am always rushing when I make up so I usually take my pictures in the car. This is the best one I could find. I used MAC Lightful Foundation, Maybelline Hypersharp Liner, Canmake Eyebrow Liquid in 01, eyeshadows from Coastal Sands 88 palette, Maybelline Colossal in Glam Black and E.L.F. Mineral Lip Gloss in Trophy Wife.

Nail Venturous Floam + China Glaze Aquadelic

Hello ladies! How was your week? Athough my weekends were tough, I had a wonderful start this week. I am given another day of paid leave on the 22 June! Yess!!! It means that I have a long weekend off next week. YAYAY!!! And I am already so excited for July to come so I can go on a holiday with Jerry!

I know that lately, indies (AKA frankens) have been really popular. Indies/ frankens are polishes that are homemade. I have a few frankens but I don't think my standard is good enough for now. Anyhow, I have a very exciting manicure to show you today. It is the very famous Floam by Nail Venturous! I think this colour is very special because the glitter used is not your typical holo glitter nor it is a reflective glitter. Be warned, it is very difficult to remove this polish. However, it is worth the effort for such a pretty colour.

This base used here is China Glaze Aquadelic. It is a very nice blue green colour. It looks similar to China Glaze For Audrey but Aquadelic is brighter and livlier. Knowing that Floam is difficult to remove, I decided to polish the tips instead of the whole nail. I love Floam! Do you love Floam?

What A Buddha-ful Samoan Sand!

Hello everybody! How are you all doing? My week started really well with plenty of good news. First off, I am on leave on the 25th! Again.. This new company is always make me take UNPAID leave because I am on probation now. But the office is closed on the 25th so no pay cut. YAY!. Got a day off is better than none. Then, I got the news that I am finally able to go to Germany with my boyfriend, Jerry, for a holiday. At the same time, I am also going to be introduced to his family and friends, and to experience his life in Germany.

Well, that is a glimpse of my personal life. Initially, I wanted to do a happy colour but I was kind of in the mood for nudes. ON MY NAILS. Don't let your mind wander away.. The mister chose OPI Samoan Sand as it is the most accurate nude shade to my skin colour. It looked really plain, in fact, a little too dull for a simple manicure. Hence, I decided to polish Barielle Buddha-ful over Samoan Sand. It is so beautiful that I did not want to take it off. The flakies are just soooooooo pretty. Look at the pictures and you will understand why. It looks so much better IRL though.

China Glaze Riveting

Happy birthday to me! Hello everybody! Today is my birthday and I had a very awesome one! I received lots of birthday wishes and dinner treats from my friends. Most importantly, I spent quality time with my boyfriend, Jerry. He gave me 2 gifts, sweets and a music CD which brought tears to my eyes. It is a very special gift to me. And he cooked me a very delicious meal! Here is a picture of him cooking. Don't drool, ladies! He is hot!!

 From my siblings:

I didn't really choose a special colour or design for my birthday nails. I wanted something bright and an untried polish. I was looking through my swatches and decided to settle for China Glaze Riveting. I had been wanting to try this colour since many people said this colour seems to be glowing.

My my.. Oh my!!! Riveting is indeed really glowing!! Sometimes it looks like bright orange, sometimes coral orange and sometimes orange gold! I did not manage to capture many pictures. I will definitely update the pictures in this post the next time I try Riveting again.

Pirouette Me Red

Hello ladies! Exams are finally over! I have an exciting new for you! I got my iphone a wide lens/macro lens specially for my nail shots! I am so excited to try the lens out! What I have here is Scandal 5814 Red Shining. I heard that some ladies were searching for this particular brand. I found this in a local shipping mall and it didn't come cheap. I could not remember how much I paid for it. Anyway, polish in Singapore is not cheap unless you know some suppliers. I layered OPI Pirouette My Whistle on the accent nails. Check out my macro shot! Ain't it awesome?! <3

First Stamping Ever.

Hi ladies! Exams are approaching and I am sure busy as hell! I finally got a short break today and I am going to spend my night in the club. I decided to try out my new stamping plate, DRK-A, from Rhonni. I picked out a simple, stripe design but stamped it L.A. Girl in Strobe Light so that I will rock the party with my awesome nails! Haha.. The design is first row, second from the left.

The base is just a baby matte pink. I didn't take a photo of it because matte chips fast and mine was already chipping on the second day. So, I am just showing you girls the UV photos. Exams will be over in 2.5 weeks! YESSSsss! I hope you like them!

Dotty Wedding Mani

Hello everybody! I have a very simple mani for you today. I did this mani some time early this month for a friend's wedding dinner. I was looking for something simple and subtle and I thought of this design. It is easy to do and hassle free! The base is Orly Cotton Candy and the dots are Orly Pixy Stix and OPI Animalistic.

Marbling For Jasmine

Hello everybody! Today was a very exciting day for me. I had my very first customer ever! Her name is Jasmine and I am doing a water marbling for her. How we met was actually quite funny, in an amazing way though. She was a patient of my father and during her visit, she chatted me up by saying, "I noticed you change your nail colour very often. Do you do them yourself?". From then onwards, we became friends!

So, Jasmine wanted something subtle but yet eye catching for her D&D night. Since her dress is going to be peach in colour, and her favourite colour is pink, I decided to do a flower marbling using China Glaze Sweet Hook, Dance Baby and Make Some Noise.

Spring PLOPers!

Hello everybody! Today is a very exciting day for me! I took part in this Spring Secret PLOP Swap and we are to open our gifts on this very day! I was the very first to receive the swap and I was very shocked because my parcel can in a flat medium rate box! Postage alone cost almost USD$45! I could not guess who my santa was till I see the name on the box.

My santa is... *drumrolls*

.........................................................................................................................................................................

.........................................................................................................................................................................

..........................................................................................................................................................................     Allison Lanier!

She got me LOTS of goodies! She said because she couldn't find me some lemon heads, she decided to fill the box with lots of sour candies to make up for it. She got me a polish from my wishlist and that is A England Lady Of The Lake! She also got me a polish I wanted very much and almost bought it! It is Orly Lucky Duck, a very nice moss green. The other polishes are Sally Hansen Fairy Teal and Tough Luck, Barielle Slow Motion and Wet N Wild Rockin' Rubies.

I felt so happy opening the box! She included a whole mother load of hand sanitizer, hand lotion, body cream, nail file, a pen and an EOS lip balm. I must say that she is really such a generous lady. Without further ado, here are the goodies which I received from Allison!

Hooking A Millionaire

Hello everybody! How are you doing today? I had a gathering last night with my primary school mates and it has been 13 years since I last saw them! Many thanks to my classmate, Crystal, who brought all of us back in touch. She is the 2nd from the right at the first row, the one in light pink! Here are 2 group pictures!

We were going to a pub and I planned on wearing a dark blue top. I decided that my nails should be a light pastel colour so that the colour can contrast with my outfit. For this special event, I used China Glaze Sweet Hook as the base and Marry A Millionaire for the accent nails. I think Marry A Millionaire is really pretty because at certain angles, the bar glitters give off some green effect.
